Crystal Smith

Crystal M. Smith has over 20 years of experience in project management, construction, corporate real estate, cost analysis, and quality control. She has worked in over 13 Cities in the US and in Leiden, Holland, the Netherlands on International Assignment.

She currently serves as a Project Director in Corporate Real Estate for Duke Energy responsible for Construction Oversight, where she leads the building of a new 40 story tower in Uptown Charlotte, NC.  She is responsible for managing the Construction team including the Construction Manager and multiple General Contractors, ensuring budget adherence, cost change control, driving project schedule, and overall project execution.   She is also an Adjunct Professor teaching in the Master of Science in Project Management Program in the Bovard College at the University of Southern California.

In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Systems from the University of Pennsylvania (SEAS'99)  and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is a LEED Accredited Professional (AP) in the areas of Building, Design and Construction.  Also, she is a member of the Project Management Institute, the US Green Building Council, Society of Women Engineers, National Association of Women in Construction and a Lifetime member of the National Society of Black Engineers.
