Join ODEIAB in our effort to support ODEI
For many, the strength of ODEI lies in the quality and character of its community. Although we all must graduate eventually, we don’t have to leave the community we know and love behind — remain connected through ODEIAB! There are multiple opportunities to get involved with the Alumni Board, no matter how much (or how little) time you can dedicate. Read below to see which options work best for you.
Provide Mentorship
Every ODEI student deserves to have someone who understands their journey and stands in their corner with them — could that be you? Participate in a mentor-mentee relationship with an ODEI student, where you’ll be paired with a student whose academic and personal interests or background matches yours. With your counsel, we can help ensure that no ODEI student feels unsupported during their time at Penn.
Participate in the Legacy Project
Enter your perspective into the history of ODEI by adding your story to our Legacy Project. This project celebrates ODEI’s rich history within Penn Engineering by compiling a history of ODEI consisting of alumni narratives, photos, and interviews. The final project will take on two components in the form of a website and a printed booklet. Learn more about the Legacy Project here.
Stay connected
Don’t be a stranger — stay in the loop with the happenings of ODEI and the Alumni Board by signing up for our emails, attending our events, following us on Facebook, and reaching out to us with comments and questions when they arise.
Help with Professional Development
ODEI students are as talented and driven as they come, and sometimes all they need to secure their dream job is some career guidance from those who came before them: alums like you. Such guidance can include referring students to available jobs within your organization or holding a virtual coffee chat to helping review resumes. In sharing your prowess and knowledge with current ODEI students and fellow alumni, you’re strengthening the network of the ODEI family.
Contribute to the Cora Ingrum Endowed Chair Campaign
Endowed professorships/chairs within Penn are serious business: a named position is a ten-year chaired position, funded by a permanent endowment. The highest honor the University can bestow upon faculty, endowed chairs are often named after notable individuals, carrying great significance. Because of this, ODEIAB is starting a campaign to raise the funds needed to create an endowed chair in the name of Ms. Cora Ingrum.
Donate to the Cora Ingrum Fund
The Cora Ingrum Fund supports a variety of integral resources within ODEI such as student summer research opportunities, student attendance at conferences and retreats, and office events and breaks. You can contribute a gift to the Fund here.
