Oladayo Adewole, PhD

Dayo Adewole, Ph.D. is a Maryland-born Nigerian-American. Their education at Penn spanned bioengineering and robotics with a particular focus in additive manufacturing, design of mechatronic systems, and brain-computer interfaces. As a neural tissue engineer, his primary research interest is the development of living, implantable neural networks to (1) model complex brain circuits and (2) deliver sensory input for prosthetic applications. Their research career has been supported by multiple awards, including a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation and a Training Grant in Neuroengineering & Medicine from Penn’s Center of Neuroengineering & Therapeutics. Alongside his neural engineering research, Dr. Adewole serves as the Chief Technology Officer at InstaHub, a sustainability-focused startup developing automated systems to track & reduce energy waste in buildings. They and their co-founder have developed InstaHub through multiple accelerators, grants, and competitions.
