Faith Taliaferro
Co-President 1
Faith is a researcher at Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA where she studies all things inflammation using next-generation sequencing technology. Having decided that she was tired of constantly perfect weather and not having to own winter clothing back home in southern California, Faith matriculated to Penn, earning her B.S.E. in mechanical engineering and applied mechanics (MEAM) in 2019. At Penn, she worked in the lab of Lawrence (Skip) Brass at Penn, creating computational models in order to study how molecular transport within a hemostatic mass is affected by changes in mass microarchitecture. In addition to conducting research at Penn, Faith was, and continues to be, heavily involved with the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI), having been a student worker and committed member of the National Society of Black Engineers throughout her four years there. ODEI was her lighthouse during her time at Penn, so Faith is excited to help ensure that it can continue being a beacon of love, light, and community for Penn students for many years to come.
